THE CBCMUSIC.CA FESTIVAL, CANADA'S MUSIC FESTIVAL, ANNOUNCES LIVE BROADCAST AND AUDIO STREAM ON MAY 23

Festival lineup features Patrick Watson, Bahamas, Shad, Joel Plaskett Emergency, Coeur de pirate, The Strumbellas, Lindi Ortega, Jenn Grant, Fred Penner, Tanika Charles and         more.

Continuing to connect fans with the music that they love, CBCMusic.ca will broadcast the   CBCMusic.ca Festival live to air on CBC Radio One from 9-11 p.m. (10 p.m. AT/ 10:30 NT) and re-broadcast on Radio 2 from 10 p.m.   till midnight (11 p.m. AT/ 11:30 NT) on Saturday, May 23rd. For fans across Canada who can’t make it out to Echo Beach (999 Lake Shore Blvd. W.,   Toronto, ON) that day, they can go to CBCMusic.ca and listen to a special live audio stream of the day’s festivities beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET.

  This special CBC event will showcase a stellar lineup of national talent including Patrick Watson, Bahamas, Shad, Joel Plaskett Emergency, Coeur de pirate,   The Strumbellas, Lindi Ortega, Jenn Grant, Fred Penner, Tanika Charles, Mo Kenney, Shakura S’Aida, Choir! Choir! Choir!, Emmanuel Jal, Quique Escamilla and   CBCMusic.ca’s Searchlight winner Orange O’clock.

  In addition to the music performances, the CBCMusic.ca Festival will also   highlight some of the exceptional talent from both CBCMusic.ca and CBC Radio. This   will include a special live edition of THE DEBATERS with Steve Patterson, and guest appearances onstage throughout the day from CBC hosts   Tom Power, Talia Schlanger, Rich Terfry, Nana Aba Duncan, Laurie Brown, Grant Lawrence, Tom Allen, Julie Nesrallah, Lana Gay, Stuart Mclean, Matt Galloway,   Anne-Marie Mediwake, Dwight Drummond, Gill Deacon, and Rebecca Makonnen,and a special guest appearance from Mamma Yamma plus lots of other surprises.
