Candy Palmater, Shad and Daniel Richler take turns in the host’s chair
Q, CBC Radio One‘s award-winning daily arts, culture and entertainment program, welcomes new voices to the show over the next few weeks while the search is on for a new host. Q will continue to have fresh, dynamic and intelligent guest hosts and will maintain the same great content and conversation around the arts and entertainment world listeners have been tuning in for since 2007.
With the demand for thought-provoking and engaging conversation, listeners continue to tune in to Q on a daily basis with the average audience tracking 3% higher than last year’s average.
Hot on the heels of last week’s guest host, F—cked Up’s lead vocalist Damian Abraham, Q‘s exciting lineup of upcoming guest hosts includes:
Candy Palmater—Canadian comedian, native and gay rights activist, and creator and writer of the national TV show, The Candy Show (January 19-23).
Shad Kabango—Juno Award-winning and Polaris Music Prize-nominated hip hop artist (January 26-30).
Daniel Richler—Canadian arts and pop culture broadcaster and writer (February 2-6).
Q starts this week off on an energizing note; by introducing their first ever Monday live show, which will feature live performances throughout. This week Q will welcome homegrown indie rockers The Rural Alberta Advantage, as they perform songs off their album Mended With Gold.
Q is also revitalizing its media panel by introducing a rotating cast of the best minds in media. The panel will feature the likes of Denise Balkissoon (The Ethnic Aisle), Jen Gerson (The National Post), Lise Ravary (Journal de Montreal), Craig Silverman (emergent.info), David Walmsley (The Globe and Mail), and more to discuss the week’s top headlines.
