CBC ANNOUNCES WORLD PREMIERE BROADCAST DATE FOR SCHITT'S CREEK, STARRING EUGENE LEVY AND CATHERINE O'HARA

Series premieres with two back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 9 p.m. (9:30NT)

The highly anticipated 13-episode original half-hour scripted comedy series Schitt’s Creek,
starring Emmy winners® Eugene Levy (American Pie, Best In Show, SCTV) and Catherine O’Hara (Home Alone, Best In Show, SCTV), and Chris Elliott (How I Met Your Mother, Late Night With David Letterman, There’s Something About Mary) alongside Canadian television personality Daniel Levy (Admission, MTV’s The After Show) will debut with a special one-hour premiere on CBC Television on Tuesday, January 13, featuring two back-to-back episodes beginning at 9 p.m. (9:30NT).

“We’re so proud to have commissioned this CBC original comedy,” remarked Sally Catto, General Manager of Programming, CBC English Television. “Eugene and Daniel have created a brilliant and irreverent series with an outstanding cast. Audiences across the country will love it.”

Filmed in Canada, the original half-hour scripted comedy series centres on filthy-rich video store magnate Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy), his soap star wife Moira (Catherine O’Hara) and their two kids, über hipster son David (Daniel Levy) and socialite daughter Alexis (Annie Murphy) who suddenly find themselves broke. They are forced to leave their pampered lives to regroup and rebuild their empire from within the rural city limits of their only remaining asset - Schitt’s Creek, a depressing little town they once bought as a joke.

Schitt’s Creek is commissioned by CBC, produced by Not A Real Company Productions Inc., and created by Eugene Levy and Daniel Levy. The Executive Producers are Eugene Levy, Daniel Levy, Andrew Barnsley, Fred Levy, and Ben Feigin. Schitt’s Creek is distributed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
