WEATHER SPECIALIST FARAH SINGH JOINS CBC-TV'S ON-AIR TEAM IN SASKATCHEWAN

CBC Saskatchewan is pleased to announce the addition of weather specialist Farah Singh to the on-air news team at CBC News Saskatchewan at 5, 5:30 and 6 with host Jill Morgan and sports host Glenn Reid. She makes her on-air debut on Monday, January 27 at 5:00pm on CBC-TV.

“I’m looking forward to enjoying my first Saskatchewan winter, exploring all parts of the province and bringing CBC News Saskatchewan viewers the trusted forecasts they can count on to plan their day,” says Farah.

A Journalism graduate from Ryerson University in Toronto, Farah joins the CBC News Saskatchewan team from The Weather Network in Ontario where she presented national and local forecasts for viewers via television, radio and online. In 2012, she moved to Edmonton to open The Weather Network’s Alberta bureau. There she worked as a video journalist and was instrumental in her coverage of the 2013 Alberta floods. Prior to that, she travelled to B.C. to cover on-the-ground stories from those impacted by the flooding of Mara Lake in the Shuswap.

Farah is currently enrolled in the Broadcast Meteorology program at Mississippi State University. She can be reached on Twitter @FarahSinghCBC. For more information on Farah, please visit cbc.ca/sask and click on “Meet Farah Singh”.
