Since the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced the pregnancy on December 3rd, 2012, their child has been a central focus of the world’s press. The new heir to the British throne will surely be the most photographed newborn in the world, grabbing headlines even before drawing his first breath. Since his arrival, the world’s gaze has been squarely focused on him. With exclusive interviews with notable celebrity figures and royal experts, the documentary WILLIAM AND KATE: A ROYAL ARRIVAL, airing on CBC TV, takes a candid look at what kind of life this baby will have, and gives us insight into a royal life that will be anything but ordinary.

With interviews from Sir Elton John, Elizabeth Banks, Victoria Artbiter, Andrew Morton, Kelly Osborne, Prince Harry and experts deep within this royal story around the world, the special documentary will examine the role this baby has been born into and will continue to have as he grows up in a world fascinated by his very existence. With a look inside Kensington Palace, to Kate’s hometown of Bucklebury, nurseries, the role of uncle Harry and auntie Pippa, to the baby’s fashion choices handpicked by his fashionable mother, the documentary will explore how this baby will be raised in an era of heightened media scrutiny and fascination.
 
WILLIAM AND KATE: A ROYAL ARRIVAL is a Future Sight production, directed by Tara Pirnia and distributed internationally by Electric Sky.
 
The documentary repeats Saturday, August 3 at 7 p.m. ET on CBC News Network, and Thursday, September 5 at 8 p.m./8:30 p.m. NT on CBC TV.
