CBC Music Declares November Guitar Month and announces the Randy Bachman Vinyl Tap Tour: Every Song Tells A Story, presented by CBCMusic.ca

CBC Music has put the axe to November by declaring it Guitar Month on CBC Music.ca, Radio 2 and Radio 3 with unique guitar-based programming and content that will run throughout the month, including a new specialty web radio station at CBCMusic.ca.
 
In honour of this special month, CBCMusic.ca is excited to announce the presentation of the Randy Bachman Vinyl Tap Tour: Every Song Tells A Story today. Inspired by his award-winning CBC Radio program, Bachman takes his master storytelling and vast music knowledge on the road. The legendary rocker will weave together iconic hits from the Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive with the often-humourous stories that brought the songs to life. To kick off the month, CBCMusic.ca launched a riff rock web radio station - Guitar-riffic. From AC/DC to ZZ Top, BTO to Yukon Blonde, they’re bringing listeners a web radio channel with the best licks in rock ‘n’ roll. CBCMusic.ca has also unveiled The CBC Music Fender Guitar Giveaway and until November 30th fans can enter the contest to win a grand prize of five guitars including a Stratocaster and a Telecaster.
 
There will also be an original Guitar Month video series featuring Randy Bachman and Rik Emmett, concerts by Canadian guitar heroes Daniel Lanois, Colin James, Matt Mays, Christine Bougie and Jesse Cook and profiles on some of Canada’s best players and much more.

Canada Live on Radio One, Radio 2: Airing exclusive guitar concerts every night until November 30th, including performances by Daniel Lanois, Colin James, Bombino, Christine Tassan, Steve Dawson, Matt Mays and Jesse Cook. Plus a Donna Grantis, Suzie Vinnick & Christine Bougie blues session and an Ed Bickert 80th birthday tribute concert.
 
A Propos: Host Jim Corcoran will present a two-part series on guitar driven songs in francophone music on November 18th and 25th on CBC Radio One and CBC Radio 2. Currently in its 25th season, this weekly entertaining hour of music and talk focuses on recordings from Quebec and across the francophone world as well as exclusive interviews with French-Canadian artists.
 
Guitar Music Features all month on Radio 2: Throughout November, Radio 2 shows will feature guitar music from all genres on Tempo, Tonic, The Signal, Shift, In Concert, Inside the Music and Radio 2 Morning and Drive. Rich Terfry, host of Radio 2 Drive, will feature the Great Guitar Riff-Off—pitting popular guitar riffs against each other in a bracket competition to select the best guitar riff of all time.
