CBC NEWS NETWORK ANNOUNCES LIVE PRIMETIME COVERAGE ANCHORED BY IAN HANOMANSING IN VANCOUVER

To better connect Canadians across the   country, CBC News announced today expanded CBC NEWS NOW primetime   coverage anchored from Vancouver by Ian Hanomansing, coming Sept. 19 to CBC News   Network. In addition to CBC NEWS NOW, he will continue to contribute   regularly as a correspondent with The National.

“We are a country spanning six time zones in a 24-hour news   world,” said Jennifer McGuire, general manager and editor in chief, CBC News.  “This expansion of CBC NEWS NOW is part of our ongoing commitment   to better inform Canadians around the clock and across the   country.”

“This is an incredible opportunity   to give Western Canada a strong voice,” said Johnny Michel, managing director,  CBC British Columbia. “The announcement today demonstrates, without a doubt,  CBC’s commitment to being deeply rooted in the regions and keeping Canadians   connected.”
