CBC NEWS' TOP CORRESPONDENTS TO LEAD ROYAL WEDDING COVERAGE, LIVE FROM LONDON

A team of CBC News’ top journalists will bring Canadians all the pomp, ceremony and excitement surrounding the royal wedding of Prince William andCatherine (Kate)Middleton, live from London starting April 25 and continuing all week through to the big event on Friday, April 29, when CBC News begins coverage at 2 a.m. ET.

Chief correspondent Peter Mansbridge leads the team, anchoringThe Nationallive from London beginning April 27 and hosting CBC’s coverage of the wedding ceremony itself. A veteran observer of Royal family milestones, including the marriage of Charles and Diana and the death of the Princess of Wales, Mansbridge brings an unparalleled level of perspective to CBC’s coverage. Reporting back home, Colleen Jones is crossing the country to discover how Canadians are catching the royal wave—and cashing in. Stories include a look at “committed” memorabilia collectors and how Canada’s multi-million-dollar wedding industry will react to the big day.

And on April 29, Peter Armstrong and CBC Radio One’sWorld Report, live from outside Buckingham Palace, take you to the heart of London for the royal wedding. Armstrong will be joined by Karen Pauls from Westminster Abbey, along with Tom Parry who’ll bring the colour and the celebrations from thecrowds lining the streets of the procession.

Royal Wedding Day Broadcast Details - Friday, April 29

On the royal wedding day, wake up—or stay up—with CBC News, as coverage begins at 2 a.m. ET on CBC Television and CBC News Network, live from London with Heather Hiscox. Four hours before the wedding, Hiscox will be reporting from street-level as the city and people watching around the world get ready for the big day.

Then at 4 a.m. ET, Peter Mansbridge takes over from outside Westminster Abbey, on CBC Television and CBC News Network,as the excitement builds towards the moment when William andKatearrive. Meanwhile, on CBC Radio One’sWorld Report, Peter Armstrong anchors live from London, beginning at 5 a.m. ET.

At 6 a.m. ET, on CBC Television and CBC News Network, and streaming live onCBCNews.ca, iPhone and iPad, the ceremony begins.Peter Mansbridge, Heather Hiscox, Ciara Hunt and the entire CBC News team take you through this historic event—from the ceremony, to the carriage ride through the streets, to Buckingham Palace.
