CBC Literary Prizes have joined forces with local storytelling collectives The Flame (Vancouver), Raconteurs (Toronto) and Confabulation (Montreal) for a series of live events this March. Canadians are invited to gather and hear six talented storytellers as they rise to the challenge of telling true stories on assigned themes, which will be recorded for an all-new digital series, ALL TOLD: TRUE STORIES FROM THE TRUE NORTH. March 10th at 7 p.m. - The Flame, Vancouver, BC
Location: The Fox Cabaret (2321 Main St.)
Host: Amanda Parris (The Exhibitionists)
Details: The theme will be “Fates and Free Wills - Destiny, Determination and Dumb Luck,” featuring special guest Torquil Campbell (co-lead singer and songwriter of Stars). Please note, admission is $20 at the door, but advance tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/1Tvli4I.
March 16th at 7 p.m. - Raconteurs, Toronto, ON
Location: The Great Hall (1087 Queen St. W.)
Host: Ali Hassan (Laugh Out Loud)
Details: The theme will be “Inheritance- Family Ties, Lies and Genetic Allies.” Featuring special guest D’bi Young Anitafrika. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at http://alltold.bpt.me/.
March 19th at 7 p.m. - Confabulation, Montreal, QC
Location: La Sala Rossa (4848 Boul St-Laurent)
Host: Nantali Indongo (CBC Montreal and Nomadic Massive)
Details: The theme will be “Crossing The Line: Deviance, Defiance, and Damning the Consequences,” featuring special guest Adam Leith Gollner (The Book of Immortality: The Science, Belief, and Magic Behind Living Forever). Tickets are $12 and can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/1WrITm7.

Since 1979, the CBC LITERARY PRIZES /Prix de la création Radio-Canada have recognized Canada’s brightest literary stars on the rise. The Prizes are awarded for the best original, unpublished writing by Canadians, in English and French, in three categories: CBC Short Story Prize, CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize and CBC Poetry Prize. The winners receive a cash prize from the Canada Council for the Arts, publication in Air Canada’s enRoute magazine, and a writing residency at The Banff Centre.
