Line up of guests to include Mike Myers, A Tribe Called Red, Norm Macdonald and Tegan and Sara

CBC Radio One today announced that q with Tom Power will launch on Monday, October 24, with a notable line up of guests and a fresh format that will include both long and shorter form interviews, new story treatments, a new roster of contributors and more music, including musical performances.

“We’re putting a tighter focus on arts, entertainment and music from Canada and around the world,” said Jennifer Moroz, executive producer, q. “At the same time, we’re refreshing the format and mixing it up a bit, all with the goal of creating a show that is smart, entertaining and engaging for the audience — whether you’re an arts and music buff or simply want to be more in the know. And whether you’re listening to us on radio, following us online or watching us on TV.”

“With the vision and energy of a new team led by Jennifer and Tom, and a mandate to entertain audiences — first and foremost — as CBC Radio’s flagship music, arts and entertainment show, we are moving forward to the next phase for q,” said Susan Marjetti, executive director, CBC Radio English Services.

"Getting ready to host q has been an incredible experience. This is an unbelievable team that I'm so proud to be a part of," said Power. "As a musician and someone who loves music, I'm excited about the styles of music and thoughtful treatment they will get on this show. I can't wait for you to hear what we've been working on."
