FAITH FUNDAL NAMED HOST OF CBC’S UP TO SPEED

WINNIPEG - NOVEMBER 25, 2020 - Faith Fundal is the new host of CBC Manitoba’s Up to Speed. Faith is an award-winning News and Current Affairs multimedia journalist well-known for getting to the heart of stories that spark meaningful conversation.

 

Faith joined CBC British Columbia in 2008 and was most recently the morning news editor of CBC Prince George’s Daybreak North. Faith is also host of They & Us, an original podcast from CBC British Columbia, inspired by Faith’s own journey exploring gender identity. Faith uses the pronouns they/them.

 

"I’ve had a chance to guest host Up to Speed, and I’ve already felt like I was among friends in this community. I’m thrilled to build deeper connections in Winnipeg," said Fundal. “Being a great radio host is about spending meaningful time with people and appreciating where they are coming from. That is my privilege.”

Born in the Philippines and raised in Metro Vancouver, Faith is a graduate of the Broadcast and Media Communications Journalism program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Prior to joining CBC in 2008, they worked as a writer, radio reporter and news reader in Vancouver, Kamloops and Prince George.

 

Faith’s first day in the host chair on Up to Speed is December 14. Listen to Up to Speed weekdays from 3:00 - 6:00 pm on 89.3FM or on CBC Listen.
