ACTION-PACKED CBC KIDS PRESCHOOL SERIES “DINO RANCH” SADDLES UP FOR CBC AND CBC GEM DEBUT ON JANUARY 16

New animated preschool series from Industrial Brothers and Boat Rocker Studios follows one family’s ‘pre-westoric’ adventures down on the ranch

Filled with adventure and life-long friendships, the new CBC Kids original preschool series DINO RANCH will make its debut on Saturday, January 16 at 9 a.m. ET (9:30 NT) on CBC and the free CBC Gem streaming service. The animated series, produced by Industrial Brothers and Boat Rocker Studios in association with CBC Kids, Radio-Canada and Disney, follows the Cassidy family as they tackle life in a fantastical “pre-westoric” setting where dinosaurs roam.

Dino Ranch – the ultimate playground – is a working farm and dinosaur sanctuary. It’s home to the tight-knit Cassidy family: Ma (Jane) and Pa (Bo) and their three adopted kids. Jon, 10, is the leader and ‘dino-whisperer.’ He is a fast-talking, wide-eyed young cowboy who fancies himself the fastest lasso in the west; super-caring Min, 8, is a young dino doctor in-training; and Miguel, 6, is a smart, deep thinking, soft-spoken inventor with big ideas. All are training to be ranchers under the sure and steady guidance of their Ma and Pa.

Accompanied by their very own distinctive dinosaur best friends – Jon’s speedy raptor Blitz, Min’s big-hearted brontosaurus Clover, and Miguel’s tiny but mighty triceratops Tango – they discover the thrill of ranch life while navigating the great outdoors and its unforeseen challenges. As the three little Dino Ranchers learn the ropes, every day is filled with unpredictable adventures – because at Dino Ranch, trouble can loom like a T-Rex on a moonless night.

With wide-open natural green spaces, and big blue skies, preschoolers and their parents will be transported to a place where they can discover the exhilarating blend of dinosaurs, outdoor adventure and ranch life for themselves.

“I grew up in the country and saw that adults depended on children to handle important jobs, just as much as each other, so I had always been interested in doing a story about kids on a family ranch,” explained Matt Fernandes, Creative Director and Co-founder of Industrial Brothers and the creator of Dino Ranch. “I have always had a love of dinosaurs too and the idea of mixing them with ranchers felt fresh and unique for this age group. Watching our Dino Ranchers interact and bond with their dinosaurs as if they were puppy dogs is what makes the show so appealing, and is what drives the stories. We are currently living in very strange times and as the coronavirus pandemic continues to upend family routines across the globe, I hope that Dino Ranch will offer parents and their preschoolers irresistible escapism to the wild frontier.”

DINO RANCH is created by Matt Fernandes (of Industrial Brothers) and produced by Industrial Brothers and Boat Rocker Studios, in association with CBC Kids, Radio-Canada and Disney. For CBC, Sally Catto is General Manager, Entertainment, Factual & Sports; Marie McCann is Senior Director, Children's Content; and Drew Mullin is Executive in Charge of Production.
