CBC gifts fans with a one-hour holiday special
THE GREAT CANADIAN HOLIDAY BAKING SHOW, premiering December 12
Health administrator Stephen Nhan of Regina, Saskatchewan exited the tent in this week’s Semi-Final episode of THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW. Ottawa, Ontario’s Aimee DeCruyenaere earned her third Star Baker title by perfecting the Pâtisserie Week challenges, including Signature Vol au Vents, the technically tricky Baba au Rhum cake, and a Show Stopping display of Petit Fours in three elegant varieties.
As Nhan leaves the tent, just three baker finalists remain:
- Aimee DeCruyenaere, 23, an industrial design student from Ottawa, ON
- Steve Levitt, 54, a small business owner from Aurora, ON
- Vincent Chan, 55, a graphic designer from Toronto, ON
The baking culminates in the season finale airing next Sunday, December 5 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC and the free CBC Gem streaming service, when the judges will award the ceremonial cake plate to Canada’s best amateur baker.
Also announced this week, four baker finalists from previous seasons will return to the tent for the chance to become Holiday Star Baker in THE GREAT CANADIAN HOLIDAY BAKING SHOW, a special episode airing Sunday, December 12 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT) on CBC and CBC Gem. Hosts Ann Pornel and Alan Shane Lewis welcome back Season 3 bakers Colin Asuncion and Jodi Robson, Season 2’s Sachin Seth and Season 1’s Linda Longson for three holiday-themed challenges.
THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW is produced by Boat Rocker’s Proper Television in association with CBC and Love Productions.
