We are aware of the concerns that have been expressed following the announcement of cuts at CBC/Radio-Canada, as well as questions about remuneration, particularly senior executive compensation tied to performance.

To be clear, all possible measures are being considered in the context of managing our financial pressures in the months ahead, including senior executive compensation.

We are committed to minimizing the effect of cuts on our programs and services to Canadians and on our workforce.

In a survey measuring Canadians’ perceptions of CBC/Radio-Canada’s coverage of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, three quarters of respondents agreed (6–10 on a 10-point scale) that Canada’s Olympic Network provided high-quality coverage of the Games and that the coverage contributed to a shared sense of identity among Canadians.
