MATT GALLOWAY TO HOST PODCAST PLAYLIST

Metro Morning‘s Matt Galloway is the new host of CBC Radio One’s   Podcast Playlist. Starting Thursday November 12, 2015 at 11 p.m., Galloway   will join co-host Lindsay Michael in presenting the most intriguing podcast content. Galloway will continue to host Toronto’s #1 top rated   local morning show, Metro Morning.

Podcast Playlist   is a one-hour radio program where Galloway and Michael give Canadians a taste of the exciting range of podcasts from North America and around the world.   The Podcast Playlist team listens to hundreds of podcasts and curates the very best around a different theme each week.

“Matt Galloway is the perfect choice to co-host this program,” says Leslie Merklinger, Director of New Programs and Talent Development, Network Talk, CBC   Radio and Audio, “Matt is an engaged and enthusiastic podcast fan with a keen awareness of the most exciting and ground-breaking content out there and we   are thrilled he is joining the show.”

Now in its second season, Podcast Playlist‘s pilot series was launched in the summer of 2015, at a time when podcast production   was on the rise and audio storytelling in this form was becoming exciting and relevant for a wide and growing audience. As the amount of content available   to Canadians grew dizzying, CBC felt the time was right for a program to curate, celebrate and be a place of discovery for audiences.

PODCAST PLAYLIST airs Thursdays at 11 p.m., repeats Saturdays at 2pm on CBC Radio One.
