Amanda Lang leaving CBC for a new opportunity in television

Amanda Lang, senior business correspondent and host of The Exchange with Amanda Lang, is leaving CBC News for a new opportunity outside the CBC in   television. Lang will also devote more time to her writing. Her second book on innovation and creativity will be published next fall.

Lang joined CBC in 2009, as one half of the Lang & O’Leary Exchange, and as part of the team bringing business news to The National.

“I’d like to thank CBC for making a home for me on a platform that I, like so many Canadians, consider an essential part of our cultural landscape. Working   with the many talented people at CBC has been extremely rewarding, but the time has come to pursue new opportunities,” Lang said.

CBC News will begin the search for a new host right away. Amanda Lang’s last day on The Exchange will be this Friday. Veteran business journalist Bruce   Sellery will host the show for the next two weeks.
